The way it works is when it's on low beams (the majority of the time) there is a "shutter" inside the projector lens that blocks half the bulb, with it off if you look closely you can see it. The only way I have been able to turn off the radio is to switch the unit to the aux input and turn off the display. Now the 8.4A has learned what I am doing and changes back to playing the radio with the display turned off. The volume knob on the dash only mutes the radio.
